    Jul 06,  · This is the solo debut of Uriah Heep's resident keyboardist and top songwriter, but it isn't the heavy metal epic one might expect. In fact, Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf uses electric guitar.

    Although neither as consistent or as good as Ken Hensley's previous solo album Proud Words on a Dusty Shelf, Eager to Please is a good record in its own right and the songs continue to bear Ken's trademark with a slight country feel. It features one of Ken's best-remembered and most poignant songs, "Through the Eyes of a Child."/5(13).

It was Ken Hensley's début solo effort, he was the keyboard player/songwriter of Uriah Heep and although is was a more mellow sound than Uriah Heep I liked it and really enjoyed /5(40).
