Big Wednesday - () While all in all I prefer Milius’ directorial debut “Dillinger,” it’s hard to argue against the idea that his surfer epic “Big Wednesday” isn’t his classic.

Big Wednesday () was the first major film scored by Basil Poledouris and one of the few dramatic attempts to capture the surfing ethos on film. Based on writer/director John Milius' and co-writer Denny Aaberg's youth in Southern California, it has earned a well-deserved cult reputation.

Big Wednesday subtitles. AKA: Dan velikih valova, Summer of Innocence. A day will come that is like no other and nothing that happens after will ever be the same. 'Big Wednesday' is a gentle rites-of-passage movie that covers many years in the lives of three friends as they grow up but never entirely grow apart. Both touching and humorous, the film authentically recreates the spirit of 60s.

May 26,  · Big Wednesday is truly credible. The story is great, the characters are great and it is worthy of respect as cinema. It is a kind of timeless story which happens to be told using the backdrop of Southern California surf culture/10(K).

The most pretentious film of its kind, BIG WEDNESDAY may have cost more than all of the other surfing movies ever made put together. Although Brown (ENDLESS SUMMER) captured the beauty and fun of.

Looking back at the strong, young cast, the evocative sense of time and place and the thrilling ocean imagery, Big Wednesday certainly deserves a spot among the pantheon of classic surfing films%.
