    Sian Alice Group are one of those somewhat mysterious bands who seem to keep popping up in some pretty interesting places -- opening for Spiritualized in the U.K., releasing their debut on NYC's The Social Registry label -- with only a handful of gigs under their belt, and a hazy sound that is intriguing for sure, but most likely a bit abstract.

    The British band’s debut album, (the length of the album), similarly moves its spotlight from one band member to the next, with several instrumental pieces and four "interludes." They tackle a handful of different genres and in so doing seem to create a new genre of their own, as moody as Jefferson Airplane, as cinematic as Mogwai, as lovely as the Cocteau Twins.
