    A space shuttle, like the American STS or Russian Buran is an aircraft design based spacecraft meant to be reused over and over again, to launch like a rocket and to land like an airplane. A rocket is a tube shaped craft filled with fuel and engines which thrust it straight up and which typically just falls to Earth when it runs out of fuel.
